Malvern Federal Milestones
December 12, 1887
The office was located in a building at King Street and Warren Avenue.
July 1938
Office moved to King Street in Malvern.
January 1947
Became a member of the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance
Corporation.
December 1955
Purchased property and relocated to 101 E. King Street in Malvern.
April 1956
Changed its name to Malvern Savings and Loan Association.
October 1957
Opened the Paoli Financial Center.
July 1960
Converted to a federal charter and became known as Malvern Federal
Savings and Loan Association.
November 1964
Opened the Exton Financial Center.
June 1969
Merged with Paoli Building and Loan.
June 1971
Purchased ground and constructed present Malvern Financial Center at
100 W. King Street.
May 1979
Opened the Coventry Financial Center.
December 1990
Changed charter and name to Malvern Federal Savings Bank.
November 1994
Opened the Lionville Financial Center.
October 1999
Purchased the CoreStates Building in Berwyn and relocated
the Berwyn Financial Center to a newly remodeled building.
September 2003
Began construction of the new Paoli Financial Center and
corporate headquarters.
April 2004
Opened the new Paoli Financial Center.
December 2004
Opened the new headquarters in Paoli.
April 2005
Opened the new Westtown Financial Center.
March 2007
A Mutual Holding Company, Malvern Federal Bancorp is formed
